Eyes Wide Open or Shut?

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Oh, What a beautiful day! I don’t even know how to start this out any other way but saying life is a beautiful place. I get so excited about life sometimes that I can’t organize my thoughts fast enough….

Does that happen to you?

Let me start by saying that I’m a spiritual person, most of the time. So, occasionally I will reflect on life this way and I just wanted to let you know.

Well, early this morning, I found the time to write some specific prayers down in my prayer journal. I have learned that if I do that, I can go back years from now and see how much has changed from those specific prayers and how God has blessed me.

So, Before leaving my primping station for the morning, I felt compelled to pick up the earphone piece that goes with my telephone that has been just sitting there.

…Then I remembered my precious cousin had told me about an application on IPhone that was a great music station to listen to any type of music. So, knowing how loud the shop was going to be today….I set off with my IPhone and earpiece in hand and headed to my desk.

First I was listening to some REO Speedwagon, which I love my 1980’s music and then I decided to search for the music group, Point Of Grace. They are a Christian Contemporary Group of women that sing beautiful uplifting music.

And….ahh…it was like magic, the music just touched the right button and the most inspirational music starting talking to my soul.

So, this reminded me how much music can change your mood and vision for things.

I believe God talks to us in so many ways through the day, we just need to open our eyes to see what he is telling us.

….Whether it is a zillion red lights we hit when we are in a rush to go somewhere and then a few minutes later you find that the cars ahead of you were in a bad accident……

….. or the electricity goes out during a storm and you get to spend time in candle light sharing stories with your family, listening to the am battery operated radio

Do you belive everything has a reason?

In my world……Everything has a reason….

………..As I reflect on what I wrote in my journal prayer book, I realize that I needed refreshment. Lucky for me, I had my eyes open and was redy to doing something out of my normal routine…like listening to the uplifting music on my Ipod on my IPhone, when Im trying to work.

So….today as you go into your day….keep your eyes open…..read the signs that pass you by…flip the station on the radio….take a different route to your destination today….take fun in the adventure of being aware of your senses….You might be surprised!
