Will it take a thousands voices
Often we find ourselves scattered and unclear what to do with ourselves. We get anxious and stressed out over family, jobs, friends, money or a zillion other things that life has you dealing with today.
Finding it hard to focus on what God wants you to do and not what you want to do, is a challenge, most of us believers of Jesus Christ don’t think enough about.
We are so caught up in the routine of our day, the distractions in life that prevent us from really listening to what our God wants us to do. We have no problem waiting in line in the grocery store or your favorite restaurant, yet we don’t find the time to just sit, relax or meditate on something positive, something that possibly God is trying to tell you.
Our Father gives us 24/7 365 days a year and what do we do to honor that…we get all stressed out and have no idea how to fix things.
I have mentioned before that we must look for the signs that God is really trying to tell us.
Sometime ago, I read, that if you can hear the birds singing and chirping about and hear the wind blowing and the rustle of the leaves moving,
then that is the earth praising the Lord, because you are to busy.
So when we notice the sound of the earth….Let it be a reminder that we need to sing our praises to the Lord. Be thankful for the blessings in our life. Count our blessings not our mistakes or our disappointments.
When I am caught in a whirlwind of emotional distractions, I force myself to plug into some good inspirational music.
King David in the Old Testament was known in the bible for singing at the top of his lungs, dancing naked in the streets praising the Lord.
So, although we can not have that behavior in today’s world, I am confident that we can all find someway to give praises to our King.
The upbeat positive music I listen to, almost immediately lifts me up and a smile appears upon my face and I am at peace.
Today’s technology allows us to plug in to music anywhere we go. Here are a few suggestions I can give you to listen to music that is good for your soul.
On the radio and on the internet you can log on to Klove.com for encouraging words and music. There is also a prayer wall and prayer request page. You can also call them directly and ask to speak to a pastor who will pray with you.
I have recently found Pandora which is available as an application on iPhone and is also available online to listen.
You simply choose the type of music or type in the artist name and the music will begin to play.
Some of my favorite music is by Barlow Girl, Super Chick, Point of Grace, Third Day, and Nicole Nordeman.
Pandora will also play other music like that of which you choose, so you can learn new artist.
You can also update your Pandora Internet and watch the videos.
Other than Upbeat Christian music, I also listen to my favorite guys who calm my soul as well. They are my 3 J’s and include John C Mayer, Jack Jackson and Jason Mraz.
Music can change our moods greatly. I hope that you can find this helpful and find the music that will speak to you and rest your soul, so you can step in the directions where you are next headed.
If you are not a believer in Christ, you have to start somewhere, so, why not start here and now.
