Remember Michael Jackson

Many years ago when I was a young child I remember this cool group of brothers singing on this show….I think it was American Bandstand.

They must have been really cool to me cuz I kept watching them

…I remember the song they were singing was “Rockin Robin”

…Around that same time me and all my girlfriends were into all those hand clapping games and we had one that went to “Rockin Robin!”

That was the Jackson Five, and they gave us Michael Jackson and in return Michael Jackson gave us alot to remember him for and alot to thank him for.

Thank you Michael Jackson for showing us that its cool to wear one white glove and hi-water cuffed pants with white socks and penny loafers.

Thank you Michael Jackson for teaching us to moon walk, which I’m still trying to learn.

Thank you for trying to show us that it doesn’t matter what color you are and it doesn’t matter what color you try to be.

Odd that it appears ok for white people to spend thousands maybe millions of dollars on spray tans or tanning beds or endless hours of baking in the sun….Just to become a deep dark brown….and possibly wind up with skin cancer down the road.

…But yet it didn’t appear ok for Michael Jackson to become lighter? A bit hypercritical HUH?

Thanks Michael for showing us that plastic surgery is not always necessary.

Thank you Michael for showing us that you have a big heart and all you wanted to do in life was to have fun, love, give and entertain.

For all the Michael Jackson Fans who are out there alive today…We are lucky to have lived a life time with such a gift of knowing Michael Jackson.

In my life time I have already lost 3 big icons of my era.

Always wanted her hair and still do…once our angel on earth and now in heaven… Farrah Fawcett

That loud announcer to a show I didnt get to watch as a child but enjoyed as an adult…Ed McMahon

and now a wonderful entertainer of my lifetime Michael Jackson…

May we all remember the great things in life that made us smile when we heard their voices or saw their faces.

Wonder what entertainers will bless our children and who they will see pass on in their lifetime.

Good Bye for now Michael Jackson, hope you and Elvis are enjoying the party or are the life of the party!

OK, your era, but everyone knew him who could reach the high note when singing “Thriller”. And everyone who knew him also knew the sour news that encompassed his life. To compare another singer/dancer – I say no. But to put him alongside the greats – I say yes. Although he left us early, and the media placed him on top of North Korea and shooting missiles, and Farah Fawcett, and SC Governor Sanders, at least it made heads turn. So Micahel you were dear to many of us because – we are the world.

Did you know that they are trying to declare a “Michael Jackson Day!?!?!?!” My teacher said if they succeed, she’s rallying for a “Elvis Presley” day. I’d be much more complacent with celebrating the King than plastic.
