In response to comment made on Obesity.

This person failed to stop and actually read my words and what I was trying to say. I wasn't "condemning every obese person," I was condemning those lazy individuals who complain, don't do anything about it, and/or expect US as SOCIETY to accommodate their personal needs because of the unhealthy choices THEY have cursed upon THEMSELVES.
Also, the only people in my blog I referred to were those that I PERSONALLY witnessed overeating and self-indulging. You didn't even have to read in between the lines to understand. Cty

Also found this website site that has information about obesity….

I will start this with a quote from your post. "It's astounding at how many everyday people are walking around, doing regular things......obese". Would you prefer that obese people stay out of sight and not walk around doing regular things (which could aid in weight loss due to exercise). I would think that would be a positive thing to see. At least they are not propped up on the sofa stuffing themselves with "Pringles". Note, wandering is the act of walking around aimlessly. Wondering is a process of thinking.

Hypertension is not a disease that occurs only in obese people (as I am sure you will learn in the course of your nursing education). Hypertension can occur in people of every size and shape. Lastly, not all people are obese due to over eating. Some people have glandular disorders as well as other complications (like having to take cortisone or other medications). I feel that a student intending to become a nurse should use a little more compassion when addressing things of this nature. How about posting a great diet instead of condemning every overweight person. I hope your studies go well and that you are able to gain some sort of insight into the effect your words can potentially have on other people.
