Fire!
He dashed out of bed in his boxers…
…to the back of the house…with two leaps!
The fire was about 2 feet high off of my daughters dresser!
I couldn’t believe my eyes!
Not a minute later, the whole room would have been engulfed in flames and quite possibly the whole house with me and my husband sleeping.
I was having trouble sleeping and kept smelling something on an off…but for the first time this winter we were sleeping with the bedroom door open.
The fire we had been sitting by in the living room was just so warm and cozy, I wanted some of the heat to flow through out the house into our bedroom, so I left our door open.
…And, I assumed it was the fire dying out in the living room…that I kept smelling…on an off.
Earlier in the day…I was cleaning house and decided to light a few candles.
…So, I lit a tiny candle and placed it on my daughters dresser.
The evening plans changed from the 3 of us being home to
…My daughter got called into work
…my mother in-law inviting us to dinner
…and me having a emotional tearful moment, remembering…
…how someone in my family hurt me terribly this week…which is another story.
The distractions caused me to forget that tiny little candle lit.
At 2am in the morning my daughter came home and as soon as she walks into her room…
She See’s the FIRE! And started screaming!
I know why I was restless now! God was trying to get me up!
Another minute later could have made a huge difference in our lives!
I believe God had my daughter walk in just in time.
I beleive the Angels and God protected us this night! We are so lucky!
I have lit candles for years, the same way I did this time.
….I won’t be lighting candles anymore, without more thought into it.
So, this message is to get a few things across.
….Be extra careful when leaving candles lit.
…and count your blessings and be thankful for everything that you have….
It could all be taken away from you…with a blink of an eye.
If you don’t have a smoke alarm in your home…go get some!
The only smoke alarm we had was in the kitchen…Our childrens bedrooms would have been diminished by the time we heard the alarm.
Today, Im putting one in every room and getting a fire estinguisher.
Becareful everyone….
How scary Kelly. Glad everyone was okay.
