 Diary Days

Have you ever had a situation where you know you were very emotional because of something that was said to you…
and it possibly made you so miserable, you cried and most likely threw a big fit?!
And then days or maybe just a few weeks later, the event is brought up again likely due to your emotional reaction that you had at that time and you don’t even remember what words were said to you in the first place, that caused all the pain?!
Many people suffer this way, just like you do.
Remembering certain things in your past…
…seems just so ridiculous hard to do!
Personally, I am in the stats of those who have difficulty remembering things, so don’t feel alone, at all.
I have come to have an understanding that we must block out events in our past for some reason or another.
…………………Experts suggest that some type of repressed memory causes one to block out events that are painful or uncomfortable. So those experts say that behavior therapy would assist in the healing of such repressed memory problems.
Journaling… has been a form of therapy for centuries.

Emotional issues have been hidden deep into your memory can be recaptured by this type of therapy.

Recalling the events that you have repressed…

Reading your journal notes can toggle the memory and help you to overcome the repressed thought.

….when you reread what you have journaled.
As young girls, we are given a diary, to write our most secrets thoughts in.
I wonder how many of us young girls still have our diaries>?
I sure wish I would have kept a diary of my life…A lot would make more sense to me! According to the experts!
……………..I learned a long time ago…. when I went to a bible study…that I should write down all my prayers and keep a journal.
So, later in life I can look back at my prayers and see how God has worked in my life.

And, honestly, when I do look back in my journal at hat I had written down for my prayers….I see that….

He has answered many prayers that I wrote to Him about………….Not all are answered in my time….but answered, nonetheless.
Journaling doesn’t have rules to it…Its not important how long you write or how much you make sense in proper English…
Dating your journal entries IS important!
Just think how rewarding it would be to go back and read something you were going through and measure how much that situation has changed you today.
Kind of sounds like self help to me…and a whole lot cheaper than a shrink these days too.!
………………My oldest daughter….ever since I can remember, has kept a journal…

….Actually the very first diary she received as a gift was in front of all the family…and
When she opened the diary she was so excited…All 10 yrs of her little self she says “Its a Diarrhea?”
Yes we all laughed….and well today the laugh is on us…
She is in nursing school and after all these years still has the many journals she kept her life in during her adolescent years…
…Just recently she mentioned to me that she was rereading one of her diary entries and thought she sounded really weird and crazy.!!!
I can just predict that all those diaries/journals will make her a Best Seller one day!
However you decide to journal, whether it is for remembering your emotional status during that last argument or using it to overcome a fear or tracking your prayers, there is one thing that I know…

….somewhere down the road we will not be here…how do you want to have your grandchildren remember you…I think its a good way to leave a legacy too!
Find joy in writing and I wish you happy journal !
