Build Your Business!
Tuesday, January 19th, 2010Im Addicted
Wednesday, December 30th, 2009Social Networking~ Are you Addicted?
Everyone seems to be doing it.
You are doing it…because yes…you have got caught up in it…
Whether you are working in an office…
….waiting tables at a busy restaurant…
or at a stop light somewhere in your city!
You are updating your status or checking on someone else’s status!
You are either doing it for fun or are doing it to make some money!
Social Networking is not just for the computer geeks and nerds.
…Nope, it is for all of us!
We are of all ages…even my mother is now on Face Book!
So, from teenagers to Senior Citizens, we can be found updating somewhere at sometime…
On the throne, on the couch, in the car, in the elevator, in the grocery store, in church, while we run, bike, camp…oh yes, we update everywhere.!
Even celebrities, update on the red carpet, while they are in the studio, while they are eating dinner…
There is even this guy who sits with his grandfather and Tweets S##T, his grandfather says!
~~~~~~
Year’s ago My Space was the biggest trend for our teenagers and then it seemed all ages seemed to be utilizing the website for connecting with others, advertising or blogging.
Interesting fact…..Blogging…hum? Seems that shouldn’t come up in red or in my spell check, considering how popular the word is today…
Maybe it will be a new word for 2010.
So, when I finally decided to get a MySpace, I was informed by my teenager that I was too old!…to have a Myspace and that it was embarrassing for her!
Nevertheless, I did create a profile….
The next social networking sight I found was Netlog.com.
Which I soon discovered was a “lets see how many people I can flirt with or hook up with! The content there did not appeal to me.
Then, last year sometime a friend of mine told me to find her on FaceBook.
I honestly didn’t know what she was talking about, but my curiosity got the best of me and I logged on to create a profile.
…I soon became addicted
…and then last Spring my daughter told me about Twitter.
Well, that was 800 followers ago! And before Wine Glass Girl was created!
Interesting Fact ~A professional blogger found me on Twitter and noticed that I had a knack with words and well…..
….this is the rest of the story.
Social Networking has changed my life in so many ways.
I have been reunited with friends that I have met over the years of my life.
…And the friendships I have made with via Twitter and Facebook are some of the most special people, I have ever met.
Well…I haven’t really met them…but I can see their heart in their words and there a few extra special friends…that I have been blessed to hear the warmth and passion in their voices.
So I’ am thankful for social networking for giving me this chance to share with others.
The addiction is controllable for now but I do foresee in the future a possible stay in Rehab for TwitterHolics and FaceBook addicts’.
I apologize to my family if I am addicted. Countless hours updating and checking out profiles, uploading pictures, is this a trend, I hope not.
In the meantime…In the Entertainment world….
I hear there is a movie being made about social networking and I also found this talented artist that has given us a song about our social networking addictions! So click on Kelley James name and check out his music, Im sure he will become a huge hit with this song!
Happy New Years Everyone!
Make sure update your status before you drink too much!
Cheers!
Monday, December 14th, 2009The 3 Day Diet Plan
This is a diet plan I use when I want to rapidly lose weight in a short amount of time. There are many on the Internet if you Google (3 day diet)
In addition to following this the only calories I would say you can have are for 1 Activia a day, which is an instant belly fat reducer..if you can deal with the gas for a few days..stick to it!
And….of course
I add on another 60 calories for a glass of red wine of course, its a great detox-er and immune builder.
It’s such a girlie thing, we don’t even need a mirror anymore…
You see us of all ages applying…..
Lip Gloss….. Its like a girls best friend!
You can have the most naked of faces and just add a little lip gloss and Voile’
You look like your shining!
Every girl has her favorite Lip Gloss….
…but we often carry several kinds of lipsticks, balms or gloss in our purses and sometimes in our pockets…
But we all have our favorite lip gloss…
This past summer, while camping at the RV Resort in Baton Rouge. Louisiana (Cajun Palms)
Some of my friends were just hanging around the Tiki Bar…. watching our guys play beach volley ball, where I can also mention that they were winning, but they looked like they were dying….
….And my sister in law caught me putting on my lipgloss and said Oh Oh Can I borrow?
…well I didn’t seem to mind…so I let her apply some…
Moments later she asked me what kind of gloss that was….she said her lips were tingleling…
Once I revealed that it was a lip gloss with plumper, I received such a reaction…from other friend that was there…that she was glad that she didn’t use any…
God forbid….because she has pleasantly plump lips as it is…
….but for those of us who would like a little bit of a fuller lip we choose a lip gloss with a plumper in it…
So my favorite for the past few months has been Loreal’s ((infallible))
It has a great gloss with color and it last for hours!
It come in many shades of gloss ~
Plumped Pink ~ Plumped Rose ~ Plumped Red ~ Plumped Coral ~ Plumped Mauve ~ Plumped Plum ~ Plumped Tawny and Plumped Brown
Eggs Anyone?
Thursday, November 5th, 2009Eggs anyone!
So, today I woke up with the sun peaking through the wooden blinds laying in my husbands arms. The sound of Cajun music waking us slowly.
…but soon I get that calling and jumped out of bed to get my first mug of Community Dark Roast Coffee…let the dogs out and then found myself crawling back in bed for a minute until the house warmed up…
Closed my eyes with a big smile, just knowing that today was going to another ME day!
Looking forward to a visit to my favorite massage therapist, for that nagging sore knot I’ve been suffering with since falling in love with bike riding.
So, my morning is off to a beautiful start.
My massage was great…from head to toe…my body is at peace. Touch is so essential for any human being but for those who need that extra special touch, massage therapy is so beneficial in so many ways.
For me, I can now bend my leg the way I’ am supposed to! And I feel great!
After my massage, I stopped at a local grocery store that has the freshest produce.
Tonight our wonderful neighbors, who are like family to us are cooking and I’m bring the salad.
So, I wanted the freshest produce to make a yummy and splendid salad.
As I returned to my desk I decided to check in on Face Book.
As I reviewed the many different status updates, I came across one of my friends from high schools status. It revealed to me that she has just lost a dear friend and having a difficult time.
Well, the miracle worker I try to be at times came out in me.
And I started sending her messages of support and relief. I also began finding videos from YouTube to post, to lift her up.
As I was doing this I became so enthralled in the moment that I lost track of time.
Next thing I know the mechanic who was in our backyard yelled out to me from across the yard…“You cooking something?”
Well. …The light bulb went off in my ditzy little brain and I took off like a bolt of lighting!
To save some time this evening, when I came home from the grocery store, I put some eggs boiling for the salad.
I had every intention of going back in to get them in 20 minutes but of course, I got distracted! While helping my friend and tending to the shop business.
You cant imagine what I walked in my house to find!
Egg Explosion! Eggs everywhere!
From the kitchen sink all the way to the front door of my house! I even had eggs on the ceiling!
I must be the only person in the world that can burn eggs. Now I must be the only one that can make them explode!
As I was cleaning up, I had put in today to clean and she did everything she could to get rid of the seafood smell, but it just wouldnt go away.
Well….the seafood smell is gone…without a doubt…
Guess what it smells like now?
Life doesn’t go according to how we plan it. We just have to go with the flow and look forward to a glass of wine at 5! and Look forward to tomorrow.
Diary Days
Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009Diary Days
Have you ever had a situation where you know you were very emotional because of something that was said to you…
and it possibly made you so miserable, you cried and most likely threw a big fit?!
And then days or maybe just a few weeks later, the event is brought up again likely due to your emotional reaction that you had at that time and you don’t even remember what words were said to you in the first place, that caused all the pain?!
Many people suffer this way, just like you do.
Remembering certain things in your past…
…seems just so ridiculous hard to do!
Personally, I am in the stats of those who have difficulty remembering things, so don’t feel alone, at all.
I have come to have an understanding that we must block out events in our past for some reason or another.
…………………Experts suggest that some type of repressed memory causes one to block out events that are painful or uncomfortable. So those experts say that behavior therapy would assist in the healing of such repressed memory problems.
Journaling… has been a form of therapy for centuries.
Emotional issues have been hidden deep into your memory can be recaptured by this type of therapy.
Recalling the events that you have repressed…
Reading your journal notes can toggle the memory and help you to overcome the repressed thought.
….when you reread what you have journaled.
As young girls, we are given a diary, to write our most secrets thoughts in.
I wonder how many of us young girls still have our diaries>?
I sure wish I would have kept a diary of my life…A lot would make more sense to me! According to the experts!
……………..I learned a long time ago…. when I went to a bible study…that I should write down all my prayers and keep a journal.
So, later in life I can look back at my prayers and see how God has worked in my life.
And, honestly, when I do look back in my journal at hat I had written down for my prayers….I see that….
He has answered many prayers that I wrote to Him about………….Not all are answered in my time….but answered, nonetheless.
Journaling doesn’t have rules to it…Its not important how long you write or how much you make sense in proper English…
Dating your journal entries IS important!
Just think how rewarding it would be to go back and read something you were going through and measure how much that situation has changed you today.
Kind of sounds like self help to me…and a whole lot cheaper than a shrink these days too.!
………………My oldest daughter….ever since I can remember, has kept a journal…
….Actually the very first diary she received as a gift was in front of all the family…and
When she opened the diary she was so excited…All 10 yrs of her little self she says “Its a Diarrhea?”
Yes we all laughed….and well today the laugh is on us…
She is in nursing school and after all these years still has the many journals she kept her life in during her adolescent years…
…Just recently she mentioned to me that she was rereading one of her diary entries and thought she sounded really weird and crazy.!!!
I can just predict that all those diaries/journals will make her a Best Seller one day!
However you decide to journal, whether it is for remembering your emotional status during that last argument or using it to overcome a fear or tracking your prayers, there is one thing that I know…
….somewhere down the road we will not be here…how do you want to have your grandchildren remember you…I think its a good way to leave a legacy too!
Find joy in writing and I wish you happy journal !
Everything Pink!
In honor of Breast Care Awareness Month
October 2009
Pink Pancakes…
Wine Wisdom thoughts from the desk of Wine Glass Girl
I was extremely exhausted the other day and when dinner time came around my husband asked what we were having for dinner…
… for the 1st time in 5 years, I had to say to him…
Uh….” I was thinking about cooking breakfast for dinner”
I used to cook breakfast for dinner in my past life but it hadn’t happened in my new life with this #2 husband.
I was almost afraid for the words to finish…because I have spoiled my family with home cooked meals ever since I moved into their lives 5 years ago.
But the idea went over well and my husband actually decided to cook the breakfast for dinner meal.
My husband is known as “The Pancake King“, when we go camping.
So he decided he was going tocook the pancakes…
He ran out to the grocery store and came back with a few items which I assumed were going to be used for cooking his pancakes.
So, I sat my retired myself for the evening, on the couch and let him have the kitchen.
He didnt understand why the pancake batter was so runny!
~~
It wasn’t long before I noticed the sound of the over beating of the pancake batter…
but of course, I kept my mouth shut.
Its kind of a rule…that we have, when he cooks, I dont tell him what to do and when I cook he doesnt tell me what to do.
Well, something must have gone wrong and he asked for my help.
My sassy self of course already knew that he had mixed
the batter too long!
So, as I entered the kitchen to see how I could help, I noticed the pancake batter was PINK!
Next to the batter was a bottle of Nestle Strawberry syrup…
My husband wanted to surprise me with pink pancakes!
Ok….everybody….say awe!!!!!
Well, I later found out that, it was his sons, that had requested pink pancakes for dinner.
So…awe went the idea that he made the pink pancakes for moi!
I’ve been creative in the past with making Mickey Mouse Pancakes and putting bananas and chocolate chips in the pancake mix.
But PINK pancakes?
I think the batter didn’t come out as it normally would because of two things, the over beating of the pancake mix and the strawberry syrup.
Anyways, they were really good and made me think of putting up different ideas to put PINK in our lives to support Breast Care Awareness!
The Day after I had my pink pancakes I found this cool website and the young lady who is the creator has come up with a awesome pink recipe for Breast Care awareness month. So go by and visit and bookmark her page for future creative recipes.
WWW.forkspoonknife.blogspot.com
So, if anyone has any pink recipes they would like to share, I would like to offer a challenge for you.
If your submission is chosen for putting on wineglassgirl.com we will give you full credit and also semd up a WineGlassGirl Gift.
So, put your thinking caps on and lets start thinking PINK!
The Day Twitter Froze
Random Thoughts
First..go to www.pandora.com and register…once activated type in type of music…for example something calming soothing…like…
John Mayer or if you want a girlie voice Colbie Calliat and turn the volume downa little low, pour yourself a glass of wine and read away.
Oh! gosh, I had the shakes the giggles, the dear lord comments, the crazy idea to start drinking wine right after lunch
…All because Twitter Froze 10/8/09
…….I heard it was a full moon this week,
…I detected it early on this week,
………mostly because I noticed others behaviors changing…
……………My nerves all week, have been an emotional wreck.
….Trying to wean myself off of prescription anxiety medicine.
…Thinking I don’t need it anymore…
and what happens…Twitter is Frozen.
I just saw that FaceBook was having problems too!
Oh Gosh, The Social Networking World was Crashing.
My husband just said he’s phone has been acting up all day.
I just read that Iphone was having new issues with the update.
I, who have had the passion to write all my life is writing like 5 different stories, the energy in the air is extremely high.
And after everything I have been trying to do, to earn a living for the past 5 years is coming to a hault.
I went on an interview this morning. Looking at going back to the “Real World”
Time for a change…I will continue to write…my love stays here on the pages of WineGlassGirl.
…lets flashback to everything I have tried to make a go at…
Made new Model/Acting cards and mailed out…Returned to my old talent agent.
Auditioned for 2 movies that I obviously didn’t get.
Sent resumes out to different company’s….for a variety of different jobs.
Try home business such as Melaleuca, GoChi, Nuskin… all totaling a sum of not enough to buy a truck full of groceries.
Its just time…economic reasons, self growth, wanting to be around girlie girls again, wanting money in my bank account more than anything, to see myself make a difference somewhere in the huge world.
And what do I see as I look back?
That nothing I have done in the past 5 years has been prosperous.
And so, I’m listening to Pandora Internet radio listening to sweet soul music.
My mother in law calls to invite us to dinner, then calls back and says she has to “tell us something” in person…whats that all about?
Something is definitely in the air.
Sureal…would be a word I can use to describe this week.
Im feeling thougtful and happy and silly and just on top of the world! Life is good, life is what you make out of it. I sure hope you find your rainbow today!
Seat Belt Drama
Thursday, September 24th, 2009I don’t remember when I started wearing a seat belt
…I think it goes back to my first husband.
When he was in the Military.
It was mandatory to wear your seat-belts on the Navy Base.
So, I’m assuming it became a very good natural habit.
I realized the importance years later in a horrifying car accident that proved that wearing your seat belt did save our life.
During the Gulf War, a friend of mine, and my two small daughters ages 4 years and my new born 6weeks old, decided to go to the mall.
As we passed through one of the towns that had a traffic light, a old truck pulled out in front of us.
I know the car spun around a few times before coming to a stop.
I don’t remember much, but in the hospital I found out that…
My car was totaled…
A drunk driver hit us…
My foot was broken…actually blow apart
My 4 year old daughters wrist was broken and she was hysterically crying, because the were putting a catheter in her.
My 6 weeks old babies car seat was twisted about and she was the only one not hurt.
My friend broke her collar bone.
We were all wearing our seat-belts….However..
My 4 year old daughter, was sitting in the middle seat in the back and just had a lap belt on.
The seat-belt held her in but left severe bruising on her upper thighs.
I have been a big mouth advocate for wearing seat-belts ever since then.
My country boy husband and step sons are so careless about not wearing their seat-belt.
They just always seem to forget!
It bothers me greatly!
Well…the other day…I decided to head to town to run some errands.
….I dressed and threw my new purse over my shoulders and headed out the door.
As I drove into town, I noticed a police car parked on the left side of the road.
As soon as I passed him…The Lights and Sirens came on!!!
Yep…I pulled over, took a deep breath, unrolled my window and waited for the officer to approach me.
So, he asked me, “Do you know why I stopped you”?
I said Uh…because I was going a few miles over the speed limit…???
“I really had no idea”
He said “no”, and pointed to my seatbelt!
I died!!!
That new damn purse strap that I threw over my heart made me feel like I had my seat-belt on and I done plumb forgot to put my seatbelt on!
I cried like a baby!
Of Embarrassment!
Of all people to get a violation for not wearing a seat belt!
Everyone knows I always wear my seat belt. My friend will just die!
Geez…of all the times I should have got stopped for texting while driving.
I should have gotten ticketed for that!
I told the officer…My husband is going to laugh at me!
He nodded and said I’m sure he will…
The officer did apologize that he had to do his job….
Oh whatever…
Officer you could have just given me a warning.
Ya’ll, wear your seat belts! Its not just the law, it can save your life! WGG
Transferance – Positive Affirmations
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009DRAMA….TRANSFERABLE ENERGY
Transference
Oh, Dear Lord,
Yesterday…was so filled with drama and emotion…I felt like a damn zombie all day…
How come drama follows me everywhere I go???
…how come it seems the harder I try to help someone and conquer negativity, the more demons come out and drive daggers into my heart?
Surely, I’m not alone…
And, I know for certain I’am not…
I just recently helped a friend overcome severe anxiety issues and depression….
…and then I became very ill with nausea toward the end of the drama
…And then this week the drama hits me!
When I use to be a massage therapist I used to feel the body heat and energy rise out of the clients back as I massaged deeper into their tissues.
And…I would wonder why I was sweating and feeling weak…???
So… I have another friend who is a model and bless her heart is so filled with people that are supposed to be her friends but that appears to just use her….for either this reason or that…and its been stealing all of her positive energy!
So, I was trying to help her too.
So of course…me trying to save the world…But actually she saved me this week by giving me advice this week…
Its good Karma…but also kinda like the Pay It Back system…someone does something nice for you and then you do something nice for someone else.
Is this all apart of believing in the stars…?
I’m not one to follow astrology but I have learned that when there is a full moon…all hell breaks loose…
I’m not sure if it is a coincidence or what but something’s are becoming more clear to me as I grow older.
One of the writers of this website is a nursing student and explained to me, that one of the first concepts she learned in nursing school was about “Transference“.
So I looked into it and it really made sense. From a nursing stand point I can see the necessity to understand transference for patience with anxiety issues but for a normal human being living in today’s fast paced world with so many different levels of energy floating around it will take some learning.
Have you ever walked into a room and heard someone screaming, yelling profanity, throwing things?
Automatically we feel the urgency to make a quick escape when negativity exist in our presence…and if we cant escape we have to learn how to endure it.
To ignore negativity does take some practice.
I have managed the drama in my life in many ways but what stays consistent is the faith system I believe in as well as training myself to think a certain way.
Making myself do things that are uncomfortable in order to move on. Getting myself out of the box… that was so safe to stay in.
Which probably wasn’t my fault to begin with…because of the transference energy that I acquired.
Positive affirmations are positive words or sentences that are repeated over in your subconscious mind.
We subconsciously do it with negative things…Like “I cant do it, I’m fat, I’m ugly, I’m a loser, I’m a failure, I hate this, I hate that…
Well, when we say things over and over…we teach ourselves to believe them!
So, if your looking to get rid of the drama in your life, try to take some quiet time alone and sneak away for break. and take at least 3 deep breaths and say positive words to yourself.
Here are examples of my positive affirmations
First and Foremost have a
Faith that you believe in… for me it is believing in Jesus Christ and so I believe that, Greater is He who is in me that he who is in the world!
I am Healthy and Happy
I am successful at all I need to do each day
I have so much energy!
I am wealthy and dept free
I have wisdom and comprehend very fast
I radiate love and passion for life
I am calm as a river
I am soft as a dove
I have great relationships with all my family and friends
These are just a few positive affirmations I use to chase away negative thoughts. I hope they can encourage you to try a few.
If you need more ideas for particular situations, please leave your questions in my comment box and I will address them as soon as possible.
A wise man once said that it is not the destination that is important it it’s the journey…so don’t look at the negative nor the past………….Run the race and conquer any negativity and you can do anything you want to! WGG
